DriAmp® Biological Indicator

DriAmp® Biological Indicator Culturing Set consists of DriAmp ampoule biological indicators (BIs) and tubes of Mesa Labs’ Releasat® culture medium with Phenol Red. DriAmp consist of 1 mL scored snap-top glass ampoules containing silica sand inoculated with a sterilization-resistant spore population. The Releasat culture medium is supplied in individual tubes for easy aseptic transfer and culturing. This medium offers the advantage of a 72-hour reduced incubation time. Test results are obtained during incubation by observing the medium which changes color from red-orange to or toward yellow and/or turbid if any spores have survived the process.

The DriAmp biological indicator (BI) is appropriate for either high temperature direct air exposure or submersion in oils and other non-water-based solutions where traditional paper strip indicators are difficult to use.
